Government Program: Oil to Heat Pump Affordability

Status: Currently available

The program helps eligible homeowners with median income or less who are currently heating their homes with oil make the transition to a better, more efficient option.
There is no need for a home energy evaluation as part of this program.

The strengthened program is available to eligible homeowners to help transition to an eligible heat pump system.

How do I get started?

Home Efficiency Rebate (HER) Program

Status: Effective July 15, 2024

Through this program (Energuy), homeowners can receive grants of up to $5,000 for eligible home energy upgrades, including heat pumps and solar panels.

In addition, up to $600 can be provided to cover the costs of pre- and post-installation energy evaluations​.

How do I get started?

  • Check your eligibility here.
  • How does the program work?
    1. Schedule an initial home energy assessment.
    2. Get a list of upgrades recommended for your home.
    3. Complete at least two qualifying upgrades.
    4. Complete a follow-up energy assessment.
    5. Rebates will be awarded as of January 2025.

Better Homes Ottawa

Status: Currently available

This program offers low-interest, 20-year loans of up to $125,000 (or 10 percent of the current value assessment of the home, whichever is less) to cover the cost of home energy improvements. Eligible measures include thermal envelope upgrades, mechanical systems, renewable energy, EV chargers (Level 2), and the addition of rental suites (up to a maximum of 30% of the value of the loan).

How do I get started?

Government Program: Canada Greener Homes Loan

Status: Currently available

This federal program provides an interest-free loan of up to $40,000 to cover the costs of energy-efficient retrofits, including solar panel systems.

The loan is repayable over 10 years, and the solar installation must be recommended by an energy advisor as part of an approved retrofit​.

RHE Instant Rebate: Up to $3000 off on qualifying heat pump equipment

Deadline: October 31st, 2024

Heat pump equipment is a great way to make your home efficient all year round.

In addition to the Greener Homes Loan* & Enbridge HER program**, Reliable Home is offering an instant rebate*** (up to $3000) when you buy 2 pieces of heat pump equipment that qualify for the Greener Home Loan & Enbridge HER program.

Addtionally:
